Hi! I'm Barnum!

I'm about 8 months old now! I originally am from Kentucky, where the cool people from Happy Tails Dog Rescue saved me from being put down. I love my new home! There is so much to do and so many things to sniff!
There are these naughty chipmunks outside the window that I like to bark at all day long! And then there's the cat who I get to chase! Mommy spoils me rotten and now every time she comes home with a bag I get excited thinking she got me something new! I was dissapointed yesterday when I found out that her bag contained... a dinosaur costume for us to wear Frowning  I tried chewing on the head but mommy got mad. Barney and Boo

It depends on what kind of dog you like, I guess! My mom would never have looked at the kinds of dogs we have now- but they are the sweetest and best behaved dogs we've had.  I can only suggest you look at shelters, or petfinder.com- there are so many dogs that need homes Frowning  We've had purebreds too, one of which had many health problems... so purebred isn't always the best way to go.

Your dogs are so cute!!!!! I had a sheltie and a golden retriever but they both died (one from a car and one from old age). After that, my family got 3 german shepards. God....those dogs are big! 2 have died (one from bloated stomach and one from age) and we only have 1 left. He is about to die though. What kind/kinds of dog/dogs should my family get? Any suggestions?

I'm about 3 years old now!  I'm a basset hound mix; very long with short little stubby legs that turn out like a penguin.
Mom and dad saved me from living in a refrigerator with my siblings on a farm.  I was the cutest little puppy ever!
See? I was so cute!
Since I grew up with Boo the cat (we were babies together) I sometimes forget that I'm a dog.  I like to jump in mom's lap and sleep on the very top of the couch.
I love to play sticks with my new friend Barney, play with empty soda bottles, and destroy every toy that mom buys me. I'm so happy to have my friend Barney here.  We love to play!
